We can thank Andrew Wakefield for the bullshit article that started the myth that the MMR vaccine caused autism. His speculation in the Lancet might as well have been on the link between peanut butter and autism. (Doncha know that 90% of autistic children consumed peanut butter some time in the 2 years prior to diagnosis? Case closed. P-butter causes autism.)
