8. A good friend asked me to join a weekly coffee klatch with a bunch of his retired, ex-coworkers from the local.....

Thursday

......transit company. Originally it was 6 or 8 that would show up every Thursday. Their politics ranged from 1960's non-reconstructed Hippie to Attila the Hun Gun Nut. Oddly, we all hit it off and have continued to enjoy each others company for about ten years. I'd recommend this to anyone, with the caveat that it really depends on who you invite and, well finding right wing crazies who have an open mind is generally one step too far, finding them with some degree of politeness and social skills, and a sense of humor, is not impossible.
