18. What's interesting to me is how English has changed so much over the centuries.

And yeah, for those of us in the 21st this makes no sense at all...

"Thou mightest beter meten the myst on Malverne hulles
Then geten a mom of heore mouth til moneye weore schewed!"

For whatever reason, as of late I tend to look up word origins when I see one that on the surface doesn't seen to add up, as in "mum's" the word, which I reflexively wrote first then asked myself 'whut'? We also attend a number of Shakespearean plays, so I find myself looking up those as well. For example,

The phrase notably appears in Shakespeare's Henry VI, Part 2, Act 1, Scene 2:

"Seal up your lips and give no words but mum."
