(5,431 posts)8. Is this really a surprise? In 2016 the Supreme Court was on the ballot, and we lost that election. Unfortunately
2024 sealed it for the foreseeable future, because we lost both Houses in Congress, and any justice who steps down by retirement or for other reasons in the next 2 years will unfortunately be replaced by someone even more extreme.
VP Harris warned us what the stakes were.
