if you believe in what ICE is doing, you should be willing to set these standards.

The refusal to set standards is admission that you are not actually concerned about legality and you recognize that the people will not tolerate what you are doing. It may be an effort to make the deportations even more inflammatory to lead to the insurrection act sooner rather than later. Or it may just show that Trump is desperate, having found there are not actually enough rapists and murderers to make a dent in the immigrant population so he is having to go after beloved community member.s
