2. President Obama didn't leave office in 2013. He left in 2017.

President Biden won the nomination but stepped down, Vice President Harris ran a solid campaign, and the difference between the candidates' totals in the popular vote was about a point and a half. Yes, it is shocking that a felon won the popular vote, especially a felon that tried to stay in office in 2021 despite an election loss, but that's for another thread.

There were multiple reasons the 2024 election turned out the way it did, including the war in Gaza.

That said, the current situation is highly dangerous and the correct response is not to siphon off our energies responding to the Tapper-Thompson book, especially when the current administration is attacking multiple institutions, defunding research, destroying the economy, and dismantling the U.S. government before our eyes.

And for that we need both new faces and voices and veteran lawmakers and leaders. It's both/and, not either/or.
