in threads that have nothing to do with her? What is that about? We aren't yet in a general election. We don't have a single declared candidate. Yet the same people who so object to some idea that there is some invisible force propelling Hillary Clinton's inevitability as a nominee are the very ones who bring her up continuously. I talk about Marx, they reference Clinton. I talk about the midterms, they insist on talking only about Clinton. I talk about class solidarity, and they bring up Clinton as a trope to argue against it.
This is well beyond opposition to a single political candidate. I'm starting to think it may be the inverse of the Putin fixation. What is going on here? Can it be mommy issues? Is that even enough to explain it?
I don't think they realize that they are the ones reinforcing the notion of her inevitability--as THE presidential candidate--when they insist on making every discussion about her. What ever happened to waiting for an actual election to pick a candidate?
I've trashed dozens of threads on fantasy presidential politics, but the Rand Paul shit was a bridge too far. Support for him feeds into the misogyny, racism, homophobia (not to mention neoliberalism) that we see far too much of.
