1. prostitution is no more "inevitable" than human slavery

Of course, slavery still exists (and is conflated with prostitution via trafficking as one instantiation), but no self-respecting educated person would say, 150 years after the American Civil War that, well, it's an unavoidable element of "human nature" that just needs to be better regulated. And that persons selling themselves into involuntary servitude should be a viable career choice that's actually self-affirming. Yet you still hear these arguments about selling human bodies for sexual gratification.
