It brings to mind the quotation attributed to the poet Rumi: "You are not a drop in the ocean; you are the entire ocean in a drop." And this line of thought can then easily be expanded to substitute the word "universe" for "ocean".
As a believer in the concept of universal oneness, this sounds very similar to panentheism, the only distinction being that Christianity has given an identity and name to "God".
Another very well written and thought provoking OP for the forum.
