Not getting the physics of getting more velocity from the stretch.
Also, how does the stretch make it harder to see the ball? Given the arm movement & turn with a wind-up, I'd think the opposite would be true.
I've delved pretty deeply into the physics of certain sports actions (shooting a basketball, getting ideal transfer of momentum from a golf club to the ball, et al) but, I'm not seeing the physics behind your claim.
