A man in Portland, Maine was arrested Tuesday for reportedly chasing McDonalds employees with a chainsaw.
CBS Local 21 News reports Alice Sweet, 26, entered the McDonalds location during the afternoon with the chainsaw in tow. Sweet then attempted to steal a drink and some food from behind the counter, continuously revving the chainsaw at the chains workers all the while.
When the locations manager approached Sweet in the parking lot, Sweet proceeded to chase him as described in a report published by the areas Westbrook Police Department on Facebook. Two vehicles were damaged as a result.
All on-duty officers responded immediately to the area, the departments Facebook post reads. Officers quickly located the suspect by the VIP Tires on Riverside Street in Portland. The suspects ran from officers, but was quickly caught and arrested without further incident by the Fireside Inn. Sweet currently faces charges of robbery, criminal mischief, refusing to submit to arrest and violation of conditions of release.
Sweets motives remain unclear, as does his reasoning behind wielding the chainsaw in the first place.
