Maybe some advice? [View all]

When I was out yesterday, I pulled into a parking spot. I thought I put the car in park and reached over to get my water bottle that fell on the floor. My car hadn't gone into park, and drifted forward, smacking into another parked car's read bumper. I was mortified. I got out and looked around to see if there were any onlookers who might know the owner. I took a picture of the rear of the car. I was going to leave a note with my details, figured the pic would protect me, but I didn't have a pen. I ran the errand, returned to my car and waited a bit. I had another appt. so I left. Since it was a private lot, I don't think I broke any laws by leaving. I feel terrible.

I didn't leave a dent. The plastic at the bottom of the bumper might be scuffed, but I didn't see any damage. I'd like to tell the person who owns the other car what I did, so they can check for any damage I didn't see. But I don't know how to find them. I have the license number in the picture of the back of the car. It's a plaza parking lot, with several businesses sharing it.

Does anyone know any ways I could find the person? I appreciate any advice. Needless to say, I will not try to get anything off the floor ever again unless the car is parked and off.

Thank you.
