It doesn't matter which; it's all horrible rotgut. But tankers have a favorite rotgut. The one we broke out the first night back in from the field.

I still have my tanker boots. A nice, high quality pair of the German-made ones. I never cared for the Corcoran tanker boots. The straps are too thin. The straps on the German boots are much wider, and overall, the boots are much more comfortable.

I don't miss the Army even a little. But I sure do miss being a tank crewman. I loved that so much. The thrill of my life.

It was nice of you to think of me, my friend. Keep your action clear, and when it rains, sling your rifle muzzle-down.
