Hamburger Heaven [View all]

I used 2-1/2 pounds of beef to make three different recipes: German Hamburgers, Hamburger Steaks with Onions & Gravy, and "Best Hamburger Patties".

I combined an equal amount of ground chuck and ground sirloin. I then divided the mixture into 10 quarter pound balls. Four balls each for two recipes and two balls for the last.

I had all the ingredients: garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, horseradish, Dijon mustard, diced onion, Worcestershire Sauce, beef stock, salt, pepper.

Cooked in cast iron with dimple in the middle.

Results: well-cooked medium rare, juicy, tasty.

Potato buns.

I've calculated that each hamburger costs $1.50.

Not bad at all . . . .
