You probably got your MMR dose(s) as a child and protection *can* fade with time, especially w/r/t Mumps.
If you have easy access to a doctor you should be asking to get re-upped.

My doctor informed me recently that MMR protection *may* wear off over time, especially with respect to Mumps. Measles and Rubella protection generally lasts a lifetime but with these diseases re-emerging in the US you may want to consider getting MMR again. While you can.
