my choice: the lenses Medicare covered. I figured $6000 would buy me at least 40 years of eye glasses. I like wearing glasses and find them helpful in protecting my eyes in many situations. I was 79 when I had my surgery and no way I would outlive 40 pairs of glasses.

Most people, when they’re given a choice turn out happy with their choice. I think it’s called “confirmation bias”.
