This is called a distal pancreatectomy. It may involve the removal of the spleen as well, but it shouldn't affect blood glucose management or cause digestive issues.

Glad it was caught early. Because of odd blood and urine tests by my endocrinologist I was diagnosed with muscle invasive bladder cancer. The radical cystectomy (bladder removal) was done 1/22/24. I am recovering well and getting use to having a Urostomy.

Sending well wishes that it is not malignant and that you recover fast to live a long and healthy life.❤️
Edit to add, I am a 3 cat man. They all miss me as I am staying in Houston to be close to the world famous and chaotic Medical Center. Sheelah is sorely missing her man servant 🤩 I miss her too
