What brought down Romanovs was many things, but a major factors was sending in completely unequipped masses of forced conscripts into a war that for the first time involved artillery and machine guns. These poor souls were forced by political commissars to charge armed only with wooden rifles. If they tried to refuse they were shot in the back by these commisars. Most of these political comissars were killed by their own men. Mass desertions became the norm and these rage filled former soldiers became easy recruits for the communists.

Ultimately Nicholas II Withdrew from the war but it was far too late by that time.

Putin is doing the same thing to his people. I believe the bill is about to come due. I wonder how long he’ll be able to hang on. When this blows it is going to be ugly.

As much as I want Putin to hang— the prospect of a nuclear armed nation in total chaos is not something to be welcomed.
