President Donald Trump plans to nominate David Keeling to head the Labor Departments Occupational Safety and Health Administration, according to a White House document sent to congressional staff and obtained by Bloomberg Law.
Trump also plans to name Wayne Palmer of Virginia to lead the Mine Safety and Health Administration, according to the document. Palmer was deputy assistant secretary for the MSHA during the first Trump administration.
Keeling has held positions overseeing safety at both Amazon.com Inc. and UPS.
OSHA under the Biden administration sought to install new regulations protecting workers from high heat and to expand rules for who can join workplace safety inspections, major decisions for new officials.
