I loved this:

Basically career caveat emptor.

I was warned that the career field I went into college for was a non-starter... but I was young, idealistic, and full of dreams of helping people. Thus, I got a degree in psychology. At least I didn't take on a lot of debt at that time. Because the only help I got from that major was in the way I treated everyone who needed tech support help! (LOL) At the time I went into college, everyone was going into MBA's... my thought was maybe by the time I graduated, people would once again become important, rather than just money, per se. Boy, was I wrong on that! I didn't take into account the amount of greed people can have, and the lack of understanding or sympathy for those worse off than them. I still hope to see that change around before I die, but the hope is becoming slimmer and more dark with each passing year.

I would have loved to see more people who went into consulting fields like yours... tho, like I said I was young and idealistic. I doubt I'd have listened hard, my love and curiosity of the field and desire to do good would have looked down on discouragement because of money issues. I came of age with the flower children, and a lot of those ideals still stay with me...

Good on your on trying to do your best to steer young people. I'll bet the colleges weren't exactly your fans! (LOL)
