My anecdotal experience with Windows 11 is that it was NOT turned off by default on my machine. My machine came preinstalled with Win11, before Recall and Copilot were available. I did watch updates for a while.

When I first checked into the Recall brouhaha, one of the tech sites had mentioned what executables to look at. My computer did not have them. I locked down my updates to security and necessary only.

At some point, Windows updated to include Recall. I know this because, thanks to the thread reminding us of this danger, I checked my machine. Windows had installed and enable Recall. Pisses me off.

Currently, I've merely chosen to turn the feature off, but I'm not sure that this company is trustworthy. I may try the full uninstall. Thanks for the link.
