click/release the first photo, SHIFT/click/release LAST photo and all photos (or files) are selected
If you need to UNSELECT one, use CTRL CLICK.

To pick and choose, use CTRL CLICK/release.

CLICK then SHIFT CLICK is for a range of contiguous files

CLICK then CTRL CLICK individuals is for pick and choose
