If my ATM machine can records my inputs and output a printed record, why can't my voting machine?

An electronic tally record plus a printout of OCR paper receipt to go into a backup lockbox to be a check against ballot tampering. No problem. Hire the banks to design a system. Get Diebold out of our voting.
