Toris lose hundreds of seats as LibDems make big gains [View all]

Boris Johnson admits the local election results in some parts of England have been "tough" for the Tory party

The party has lost more than 340 council seats in England and has seen big losses in Scotland too

The Liberal Democrats have gained more than 190 council seats in England so far and the Greens are also doing well

The BBC calculates that based on these results, if the whole country had been voting - Labour would have 35% of the vote, Conservative 30%, Lib Dems 19% and others 16%

Gloating a bit over Labour winning Wandsworth and Westminster councils from the Tories. No to mention West Oxfordshire, basically Cameron's former constituency of Witney.
