It was definitely the most heart-felt Canada Day of my lifetime. People were saying it with enthusiasm, not just as pro forma, and Canadian flags were everywhere. My wife and I live in a gated townhouse complex, and there were few units indeed that lacked a flag. She is currently at her home of WNY, and I am curious about how the 4th will be celebrated there this year.

Plucky, though quiet, she wore her Elbows Up Tshirt quite proudly, but I suggested she not wear it while crossing the border into the US. Those border agents have sweeping powers, although I doubt they would, or are able to, do much about the re-entry of a citizen.
