Coronavirus in Ohio: Doctors, other medical workers gather at Statehouse to support Dr. Acton [View all]

The Statehouse lawn was the scene of another demonstration Sunday afternoon, but this was one was different.

About 35 doctors and other medical workers, wearing masks and white coats, quietly stood to show their support for Dr. Amy Acton and her decisions as Ohio’s health director in battling COVID-19. The Physicians Action Network organized the event.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 infections and related deaths continue to rise in Ohio and Franklin County, with 19,914 confirmed and probable cases reported by the Ohio Department of Health on Sunday, up 579 from the 19,335 reported on Saturday. There have been 1,078 admissions to hospital intensive care units.

As of Sunday, Ohio had 1,038 COVID-19-related deaths, up 17 from Saturday.
