California (Portuguese) named for Queen Calafia.
Nevada SPA for snow accumulation (Must have been a bizarre time back then)
Arizona SPA for dry area.
Colorado SPA for red
New Mexico (duh)
Texas SPA for tiles on colonial style houses
Florida SPA for plant life, flora.
There is some discussion about Montana meaning mountain in SPA or FRE
