I have a question about Hawaii Five-0. [View all]

I really enjoy the show. Your state's beautiful scenery makes it worth watching even if I didn't like the stories.

Here's my question: Daniel Day Kim plays Chin Ho Kelly and Grace Park plays Kono Kalakaua. It is my understanding that both are of Korean descent. Wouldn't the show be more genuine if actors who were of Hawaiian descent played these roles? Or do I have something wrong? Does Hawaii have a lot of people of Korean descent, making this no big deal? Or am I missing something else?

I've never had the opportunity to visit your state, though I would love to. With that in mind, if I've said something somehow inappropriate, chalk it up to ignorance. It just bugs me everytime I watch the show, wondering why they couldn't put some actual Hawaiians in it.
