Thanks for your patronage of my train videos! I know you've rec'd quite a few of them

Long story short, the cheapest way to travel on VIA is to book a Sleeper Plus Class Deal.

These work just like seat sales on an airline. About a month before the actual travel date, any unsold sleeping accommodations are sold for about 50% off the regular ticket price.

The link to the deals is here:
https://www.viarail.ca/en/offers/sleeper-plus-class-deals/all

For what it's worth I've taken this train several times & never paid full price.
I take it you are looking to travel the entire route from Toronto to Vancouver or vice versa.

The cheapest accommodation is a berth and right now there is one for $222 Toronto to Winnipeg - that's only the eastern half of the route. This price includes sleeping accommodations & all meals while onboard.

The 'cabin for one' or 'cabin for two' (ie. the bedroom shown in my video) are the next higher fare, $638 per person Toronto-Winnipeg & also include sleeping accommodations & meals.

Right now deals for the entire Toronto-Vancouver trip are sold out but I would keep checking periodically as the website gets updated all the time & there will be a sale again for the entire route. Last I checked price for the entire route was about $650 per person in berth sleeping accommodation with all meals included - cheaper than driving.

VIA Rail Canada's phone # is 1-888-842-7245 for questions. You'd typically book the deals online at the link above.

Hope this helps, thanks again! Cheers, Pete!
