7. Wishing you well with your surgery.

I had cataract surgery in 2023. Stupidly, I elected to have both eyes done at once. One of my eyes is partially blind due to optic nerve stroke resulting from a medication reaction. The surgeon wanted to address the blind eye first, stating that if it didn't go well, I'd still have my "good" eye. That made no sense to me because the "good" eye was now legally blind due to the cataract. After a lengthy, mostly civil discussion, I went for broke and had both eyes corrected during the same surgery. I had no discomfort afterwards and didn't need any pain medication. I do not, however, recommend having surgery on both eyes at the same time. You may be required to wear eye shields following surgery and the next thing you know, you mistake hemorrhoid cream for toothpaste and Raid for hair spray. The upside is you will be thrilled when you can see again. My artificial lenses brought my visual acuity to 20/20. I can, once again, see individual leaves on the trees and clouds are white again and not yellow. I love your paintings! A friend of mine did a portrait of my Siamese cat 40 years ago and it hangs in a place of honor. If I had a portrait of every cat I've owned in the past 68 years, I would definitely qualify as a cat house (without the red porch light, of course).
