17. What about schools?

I’m not indifferent to the concerns of religious groups. My whole neighborhood came out to a rally after the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue, and my local temple was targeted by the Westboro Baptist Church hate group. They handled that well. However, there’s no way to make it safe for people to peaceably assemble as long as we allow unregulated weapons and ignore hate speech that incites. I witnessed a man drive a truck into a group of demonstrators at the Wyatt Detention Center. A billion dollars spent on mental health services and leadership that fights hate speech might help. As it stands, one nut can legally buy an arsenal and ‘mass shootings’ are so common that they only make local news.
