... I lost my Cadillac insurance at 60. Then there were symptoms. I had to go to VA. Am I glad I did. But I was prepared to die and there was nothing I could do about it: except I had enlisted, like only about two or three percent of the country have. All things being equal, except for VA, I would have died.

I posted these two OPs right after my second cancer surgery. I still post the second one about once a year:

But not this year, it seems. Can't find it. It was by a member called medical admin. I did find his wife's letter when he died because of feuding insurance companies over two events, that timely treatment would have saved his life.

Been closer to it and around and dealt with it a lot more than you think.
