"Yes we know HAMAS is a monster"
- So why not go into what makes Hamas such a monster? A lot of your questions would become self-evident just by taking this step alone.
"How does that make Israel any better?"
- The right of self-defense, for one. No state in the world would act differently against these monsters. The body count and suffering are in the hands of Hamas. They chose, employed and bragged about their tactics deliberately purposed to achieve the highest possible casualty rates among civilians, bragging at length about the the benefits they brought to Hamas and calling for more civilian casualties. Hamas is in full control ofr reducing and increasing these casualties, and they consistently choose the latter. Which, of course is exactly what makes them such monsters, but which for some inexplicable reason is never mentioned with any degree of specificity, an omission that obfuscates their responsibility for causing "the much greater body count and suffering applied". More on how this makes Israel better later.
"Why isn't Israel going after the nations/leaders of HAMAS? "
-They are. But Hamas leaders made it a routine practice (see above) to hide themselves, their military assets and their resources among their civilians, purposely positoning the said civilians in harm's way instead of getting them out of harm's way, in violation of a commandment imposed on Hamas as their rulers by every international law and humanitarian standard in existence.
"But this is blatant targeting of civilians and emergency personnel"
- No it is not. See Articles 28 and 29 of the Fourth Geneva Convention (https://www.un.org/en/genocideprevention/documents/atrocity-crimes/Doc.33_GC-IV-EN.pdf). According to all international criminal law, "targeting" presumes intent to civilians and medical personnel, and it is on the accuser to prove intent. Unless it is proven, it remains an allegation.
"Why aren't Jews/Israelis speaking out against this?"
-They are. By the tens of thousands on a weekly basis in Israel alone. Not only are they speaking out against the aforementioned monsters that are still holding their neighbors and relatives hostage (an abomination condemned by every humanitarian law and ethical and religious doctrine in existence), but against their government. Another rather obvious thing that makes Israel better.
"Why is the U.S. not putting a stop to their feeding of this violent machine? "
- Look up what is happening in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Iran, in addition to Gaza, and not just from Israel's perspective of risking total annihilation, but American interests in the region and how they line up with a well-armed Israel.
