I feel like his cult members know this, and that we fall into his trap by believing that his spoken words are supposed to mean anything.
The question that just constantly shadows my psyche though is how is it possible that Democrats can't make more political headway on the fact that his proclamations are such obvious sacks of feces? We are a long way down the road from his boast that Mexico would pay to build the border wall to keep people out of the U.S.; and obviously we do not have a shiny new healthcare system. Yet every new boast is met with some perception that he really means it.
It is not solely the fault of the press--although good arguments can be made in that area. Political reality is formed through so many factors: social media; memes; press coverage; public perception; word of mouth. Why do his lies seem to always ascend and never create fallout? Are we simply witnessing the work of one of the greatest con-artists in history?
