In reply to the discussion: Schumer says he plans to support the GOP funding bill, lowering odds of a shutdown [View all]LPBBEAR
(683 posts)earlier today and read a few posts that were of the "Dems were standing strong" variety. I thought about responding but decided it wasn't worth the effort. I figured by evening Schumer would fold just like always.
While its obvious the Republicans have been engaged in tearing down this country the weakling Dems have their share of blame to accept. Trump is a cancer that has been allowed to metastasize for a decade with next to nothing being done about it. The Dems under Schumer and Pelosi and others have screwed around doing nothing of substance forever. Some of them actually voted FOR Trumps nominees, and worse, see nothing wrong with doing that. All that "my friends across the aisle" bullshit.
I think of it like a game of marbles where the Dems are playing for single individual marbles and patting themselves on the back cause they managed to win one marble here, one marble there. On the other hand the Repukes have been ignoring the rules of the marble game and reaching out and scooping up handfuls of marbles while the Dems stare in shocked consternation and then go right back to playing for one marble here, one marble there as if nothing happened. Meanwhile Trump and the Repukes are running off with the entire field of marbles.
Until we get down and dirty political fighters running this party and its direction we're f**ked.
My wife and I are so disgusted by the feckless BS in the party we now toss the numerous donation solicitations in the shredder recycle bin. Its not like their constituents aren't screaming at them to get their acts together. We are. They're just not doing it and their inaction is as bad as the Republicans actions. Two sides of a pathway to dictatorship.
