If Harris is the nominee, I will vote for her, of course, but this would be a huge mistake.

Every time Pete Buttigieg is brought up as a potential 2028 candidate, he is shot down by practically everyone on DU as "wish we could have him, but this country is just not ready... just too bigoted..."

I've got news, folks. If you do not believe that this country would HAPPILY elect a gay man as president, there is a ZERO PERCENT chance they are electing a Black woman as president.

Those same bigots are voting either way. You can't have it both ways.

I personally believe we need to turn the page and offer the country a brand new ticket. They did not want the ticket we presented in 2024. We can be disappointed at the reasons that ticket failed. We can think it's unfair (and of course it is and I hate that the country is too sexist and racist and bigoted.) But putting up the same 2024 ticket in 2028 and expecting a different result is crazy, and we are risking another 4 years of republican control.

We have lots of good possible candidates we can run. We need to turn the page and move on to someone else.
