The GOP was able to get a 34x convicted felon who refused to accept the 2020 election results and incited January 6th.

Meanwhile the Dems wouldn’t stand by a man who led the US out of COVID, passed more legislation in 4 years than FDR did in his 3 year term (with supermajorities).

Why? Because the GOP coalesced around Trump and backed him unconditionally. Going on every TV show and spouting the same talking points over and over and over. They never wavered.

Meanwhile the Democratic Party leadership did an Al Franken on Joe Biden. Circular firing squad.

I guarantee if Joe Biden had been a GOP candidate, he would have won because of the messaging machine the GOP has.

People can argue whether or not Joe Biden should have run for a second term, but once he has made that decision the party should have had his back. Bad debate or not. Had Trump had the same bad debate the GOP would have been able to convince voters it was actually a masterclass.
