(60,515 posts)87. My sister and her husband live in New Jersey
They are in a small town far to the west of NYC. They tell me that NJ property taxes are punishing, and their house is somewhere between modest and tiny.

My credit cards were both up to the limit. I had to take money out of my now very meager retirement account.
