The deliberate fallacy in "It won't cost the taxpayers anything"

...Trump may well pay for most of the monstrosity that he's imposing on the American people.

It should matter that he's again usurping the constitutional function of Congress to appropriate money for projects like this, understanding that the process represents the people having a say in what's erected or constructed by their government, but it's clear it doesn't.

But what hasn't been discussed, much, is what will America do when there isn't an autocratic nihilist bully in the White House to defend his gaudy, garish, pretend palace? It's clear the American public is already pissed, much less likes what Trump is building.

Even if it the entire effort is financed by extorting money from corporations and billionaires who line up at the front door of this White House to pay to play, we're stuck with it until we come up with the money to tear it down and replace it.

Like Former White House Chief Historian Ed Lengel told Jim Acosta today, it's like a rich guy came and built something on your lawn and was like, don't worry I'll pay for it, and later on you're stuck with this thing you don't want and can't afford to demolish it and repair the land.

The man should be put in jail, for this alone.
