It reduces the deficit! (It raises the deficit by $3.4T)
No tax on social security! (That' not in the bill)
No cuts to Medicaid! (Largest Medicaid cuts in history).
That's the lede. That's the story. The President of the United States lied to the American people today about his budget bill so that he can give huge tax cuts to the wealthy.
It's really not that complicated, and covering it that way is good journalism.
