(4,096 posts)I remember when I had my third child that I was occasionally distressed because if I had to grab my children and run, I only had two hands. Taking tours in England and Europe, the guides would show us "where they killed the Jews"- we had our children with us on some of those tours. Even the US refused to take in Jewish refugees during WWII - sending many to their doom.
Israel for me, just like the person you know, is the home base "safety" place for Jewish people. I think the persecution has been for so long and so intense that it has become part of our DNA.
I hate Bibi because he put our "homeland" at risk.
He puts Jews around the world at risk. I see that more and more.
Rabin was my guy - but you know what happened to him....fucking right wing ultra religious nut job.
BTW, my homeland is the US, not Israel - but I always thought that if things got rough that there was a place where I could take refuge.
