Going to protests is a good idea, because you will be with like-minded people who are committed to positive change. You can make connections and get ideas about what can be done locally. Making a sign to take with you can be a good creative activity.

I've lived by that prayer for over forty years. Meditation, mindfulness, and the pursuit of equanimity are a big help.
