Trump's Fight With Elon Musk May Have Broken Multiple Laws - Farron Balanced

Elon Musk's fight with Donald Trump this week cost Elon $34 BILLION after stock in his companies tanked. This happened because Donald Trump threatened to pull Musk's government contracts, and that's where he may have run afoul of the law. Trump had to have known that this would tank Musk's stocks - and send those of his competitors soaring - and that is definitely something that could end up being prosecutable, or at the very least result in a large civil suit. Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Trump is in no danger of 'prosecution' - and the idea of a 'civil suit' (presumably some time in the distant future) is only slightly more tenable ... And still a big, big stretch. Actions (and even 'suggested' action) on the part of the executive have financial consequence - virtually every day. The idea that this might constitute grounds for civil suit ... Novel ... (if one wants to be generous)

The things Trump says and does cause the stock market to rise and fall. Wall St. must be having a field day so to speak.
