Will Trump go to Jail in NY Case? Will Judge Cannon be Reversed? My Interview with Danny Cevallos - Glenn Kirschner

I had the pleasure of chatting with my friend and fellow legal analyst Danny Cevallos recently, and we discussed pressing legal issues of the day, like: will New York State Judge Juan Merchan sentence Donald Trump to prison on his 34 felony convictions; will the appeals court reverse Judge Aileen Cannon's dismissal of Trump classified documents case and if so, will they remove her from the case and assign it to a different federal judge; among other topics.

One of the fun aspects of my discussion with Danny is that we come from different backgrounds: Danny is a career defense attorney and I spent 30 years as a federal prosecutor. So we analyze the legal issues of the day from two different perspectives, yet more often than not, we land on the similar legal conclusions. - Glenn Kirschner - 10/05/2024.

2. I agree this was an interesting video...

but not "satisfying" in the least. Trump MUST be made to pay for at least some of the crimes he committed. For me, the worst was the stealing of classified documents. But I'm former military and former DoD who has held TS classification. If we had done ANYTHING similar to what trump had done, we'd not only be out of a job, we'd be in jail so fast it'd make your head spin. I detest this two tiered justice system that favors white collar, rich men and leaves the rest of us to sink or swim as our finances will allow.

Barring no judicial accountability, I want to see a Truth and Reconciliation court go over everything he did, from the smallest theft of WH memorabilia and gifts to the stealing of classified documents. From the outing of our secret service agents and other countries' who were working with us, in many cases meaning death to them, to whether or not he sold or gave away national secrets to the Russians or any other country. I also want an accounting of the money given by Egypt to him, and a discovery if there were any other monies exchanged similarly. I also want more information about Jared's dealings with Saudi Arabia, and Ivanka's chinese patents... especially inre the voting machines. Then there are the many emoluments the SCOTUS just swept away like nothing, Constitution be damned. I also want justice for those of us who have basically lived through our own version of PTSD since he came gliding down that gilded escalator. I want justice for myself and others who have woke up or been woken up out of night terrors screaming trump's name. He should not be allowed to cause as much mental health damage as he has been allowed to do. And that, I guess is the least of it. Haitians and other minorities, including we women, should have our voices heard on this Truth and Reconciliation council.

There's been just too much to let him and SCOTUS push everything down a rabbit hole to be forgotten. If we allow that, we allow other coup attempts anytime a repug campaigns. They're already doing everything they can, to accomplish their laws and missions prior to this election. If we let trump and the other political coup aspirants skate like nothing ever happened, the risk to great to ourselves as a country... forever. And, while I love what Democrats stand for and have stood for since at least FDR, even I don't think this country does well with a one party only system. Trump MUST be held account by someone, somewhere, somehow.
