(1,760 posts)Why do CNN and MSNBC always show "Entitlements" in the chyrons when referring to Social Security, Medicare, etc.?? Chris Hayes, Rachel, Lawrence O'Donnel, etc. need to have a word with MSNBC's producers. Same for CNN.

(61,450 posts)the negative connotation via the phrase "sense of entitlement" became pervasive so a word describing a legal or moral right to something was propagandized into a negative connotation.

(12,542 posts)It can also mean the feeling of deserving something without working for it.
It can also refer to a government program that provides a benefit to eligible participants, or the unjustified assumption of such a right.
It is the ambiguity that I have a problem with.

2. He doesn't do math that doesn't already agree with his preconceived beliefs unless *rump or musk tell him that his beliefs should be different.
3. He can't bring himself to listen because of all the frightened, partisan voices in his head screaming at him, not to panic.
Thanks for the thread Dennis Donovan

(19 posts)The American public would be much better served if they had unbiased experts on - you know, real economists, SSN experts instead of biased lying politicians. Who in their right mind believes one word uttered by Mr. Dagnummit? It is ridiculous, given the dire straights we are in, to continue to have people on news programs who insist on lying and misleading the public.
