OP
Agreed, the Democrats need to step up and oppose these illegal cancellations and firings.

We are already in a partial government shutdown. And that is because of what Elon Musk and his DOGE frat bros are doing. Ad hoc, agency by agency, without any warning, without any force of law behind them, just showing up with five U.S. Marshalls, throwing people out and shutting things down. . . My view is that if we are going to get back to the budget resolution that was last agreed to and we're going to continue that, we'll that means reversing the illegal activity that Elon Musk and his bros have been doing over the last six weeks. If you want me to vote for something I need to have the peace of mind and guarantee that if I vote for a bill on Friday all of the sudden on Saturday Elon Musk won't show up and shut the agency down that I just agreed to fund.
What do you think? Should Democrats boycott the vote and instead have a press conference on the Capital steps to tell the American people that Trump and his criminal closure of agencies they've funded, criminal cancellation of projects they funded, and criminal firings of civil service personnel have rendered their vote meaningless. The Executive Branch is refusing to faithfully execute the law in direct violation of the oath of office that Trump, Vance, and every appointee and employee of our Federal Government has taken.
' Until the Executive Branch reverses every unlawful action and begins to execute and enforce the law, as passed by Congress, as their oath of office demands, passing any budget or law is meaningless.
Put an end to the pretense that this government can continue with this level of lawlessness.

It's long past time that Congress took back their power, the job they were elected to do, rather than capitulating to TFG's illegal "Executive Orders." If the Republicans refuse to step, and it's getting worse, it's up to the Democrats, especially since the Republican majority is so thin.
