It was 9/11 that prompted me to eventually find solace here, and I still learn something new every day!

And I wish I had bern here from the start. It would have helped during the Baby Bush years a lot. And in 2016...

Back then they changed 2 of the major forums into one where DUers could express their anger and the other for those who felt awful and needed sympathy. I posted on the second one. But, looking back, I had no idea how much worse we were in for TWICE in the future.

I certainly didn't. I love dystopian novels, but this plot line is so put there I don't think I would have bothered to read a novel based on this reality. I would have thought it too improbable, hallucinatory even.

And I can't help wondering what my father and grandparents would think. Yikes! My Dad, uncles and grandfathers all served, both of my grandfathers and my great uncle in war. How can we have a lying draft dodger as Commander in Chief, let alone one who sides with our enemies and turns against our long-time allies, placing our national security in jeopardy??

I went to a ceremony a few years ago where my great uncle was presented with the Silver Star. Four of his five children were there to accept it along with two (two congressional districts claimed him) flags that had flown over the U.S. Capitol.
