Even Republicans object as Trump DOJ nominees are disturbingly noncommittal on obeying courts - Rachel Maddow - MSNBC

A bright red line before a country loses democracy entirely is when its government loses respect for the rule of law and feels free to ignore rulings by judges. So when some of Donald Trump's nominees to be senior DOJ officials gave soft answers on whether a president can ignore judges, alarms rang for many senators present, even Republicans.

Senator Dick Durbin, leading Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, talks with Rachel Maddow about the peril Trump poses to the essence of America's identity. - Aired on 02/27/2025.

As unlikely as it is to succeed in the Senate, Democrats MUST attempt to pass articles of impeachment if His MAGAsty refuses to obey court orders — we simply CAN'T let it stand unchallenged with nothing but righteous indignation! Every Republican in the House needs to go on record where they stand on the rule of law, and every American needs to know exactly what's happening here. With such a slim majority, it's even possible that the resolution might pass the House if just a few of them get worried about their own political future, and then Republican Senators would also need to go on record before they run again. And then, it needs to be THE campaign issue.

If we don't stop this bullshit in the '26 elections, our democracy is truly lost.

Because EVERY RepubliCANT in the Senate is either a fellow traveler or too spineless and toothless to dare offend the Convicted Felon.
