Trump and Musk's friendship takes a dark turn - Ayman - MSNBC

Less than two weeks into Trump's return, it's clear that Elon Musk has had an outsized and unusual role: helping Trump wage a war on his own federal government. Musk is not a federal employee and has no clearances, yet has already gained access to highly sensitive information at the Treasury and USAID. And those who have tried to stand in his way have either been put on leave or forced to resign.

MSNBC’s Ayman Mohyeldin speaks with former Congressman Denver Riggleman and Democratic Strategist Julie Roginsky about how dangerous this is for U.S. democracy. - Aired on 02/02/2025.

Trump was hoodwinked by an ACTUAL billionaire and is unable to admit defeat.

All our data belongs to Musk. Trump can't stop Musk now.

Game over.

Musk gets his orders from Putin and Putin owns Trump. Musk is Putin's shadow over Trump keeping him on a short leash.

who do not believe that we should be pleading for Democrats to do something about it, take the time to watch this 13 minute video.

The doom and gloom posts here that are being criticized are only going to get much worse.

Please, Congressional Democrats. get out and do town halls and explain to the American people what Musk/Trump is doing. Doing nothing allows them to control the narrative, doing nothing is a form of justification for what they are doing.

Ayman: You'd like to think that there's gotta be something, anything that Congress can do on this issue.

Julie: Of course, it's called separation of powers. We have a constitution that has checks and balances, both from the courts and the legislative branch. But here is the beauty of what Donald Trump has done - he has completely subsumed the legislative branch. They have bent the knee to the point where they are terrified of crossing Trump. But they are also terrified of crossing Musk because, thanks to Citizens United, he can pour an unlimited amount of money into any primary and take any of them out. And you've got the courts, which of course said to Donald Trump you can do whatever you want as president and it's not criminal, and, by the way, you're also able, because of the constitution, to pardon anybody who does anything criminal on your behalf, no questions asked. So, is there something on paper that the founding fathers thought they could do? Of course, they came up with a fabulous system. Unfortunately, we've gotten to the point where the system is collapsing. It's not working, and again, the only people that should be pointing this out all day, all night, are the democrats, and they are not doing what they need to be doing.
