Bug: Smileys button on top of text editing buttons in default mode

This discussion thread was locked by EarlG (a host of the DU4 Bug Reports forum).

The smileys button slightly overlaps with B I U S Highlight and M. This is default mode on mobile.

I think what’s going on here is that I didn’t quite design small enough for very small screens like iPhone mini. My guess is there are a number of quirks like this which will crop up, similar to the Skinner Mode button issue you had earlier.

These issues should be fixable though. I’ll let you know when I’ve tried a repair on this (and the button issue which still needs work)

The reply box steps on all of the text modifiers and completely covers smilies in dark mode landscape mobile.

The bad news is, I'm not sure how to fix it yet.

Again, this is related to the responsive design. For some reason, your iPhone mini, when turned horizontally, is displaying the tablet layout. That's why you're seeing the left column, and buttons aren't fitting properly (because there's not enough room for them to line up correctly).

But that shouldn't be happening, because even in landscape mode, the viewport of your phone should be small enough to display the mobile layout. My iPhone 12, when held horizontally, displays the mobile layout, even though it has a larger screen size than your iPhone 13 mini.

So basically if I can figure out how to fix this, it should resolve most of the other issues you've reported -- they are all pretty much related to this problem. The only thing is, I'm not entirely sure why this is happening.

I'll keep looking into it and hopefully will come up with a solution.

Don't worry about Night Mode or Skinner Mode for now -- this is just in Default Mode.

Did this resolve anything for you in landscape mode on your phone?

Edited to add: just to be sure, try reloading the stylesheet. Visit this link on your phone and once the page has loaded, hit the refresh button:

Hopefully your phone is not caching the old version of the stylesheet.
